A couple of weeks ago, Billboard sent me up to photograph Atlantic Records’ CEO Craig Kallman who’s also a compulsive collector of records (he has 750 000, yup!), music related memorabilia and amazing vintage rock photography.

So obsessive in fact that, according to wikipedia, this is the second largest private music collection in the world… 

And he had to get an apartment to stash it, with 2 toilets: one dedicated to Soul music, the other one to punk rock.

And here is what it looks like in the mag.

Thursday evening, I went to shoot around the corner of my house for just 20 minutes before the light went down, I met the lovely Leonore who kindly let me take her portrait.

I had a real good time with the lovely people of AKA, on the rooftop of their new office; by order of appearance, Elizabeth Furze, Jamaal Parham, Bashan Aquart & Scott Moore.

Fun fact: It’s on this exact rooftop that Bob Gruen shot his iconic portrait of Lennon

I met with British-Ghanaian architect and designer David Adjaye at the Knoll showroom a couple of weeks ago for The Wall Street Journal.

Ryan Mesina, who’s one of the last cultured photo-editors in this town, asked me to somewhat reference Malian photographer Seydoux Keita who i am a huge fan of, using David’s new fabrics.

We met last week in his Upper East Side book-filled apartment and then went on a short walk around the neighborhood. 

And the fact that it actually is my job is baffling.

A couple of Sundays ago, his only day-off, André De Shields and his long-time friend/impresario Merle Frimark warmly welcomed us in his Hell’s Kitchen eagle’s nest, cramped with his many books, records, scripts and his own writings, around the rehearsal piano; in a corner of the room, the wig for his acclaimed Frederick Douglass role.

And before you ask, yes it actually is Diana Ross on the photo above him. 

A few days before, Kat Malott at The Wall Street Journal had gotten me invited for tea time to illustrate the ‘house call’ interview of the Mansion weekly supplement. She didn’t know it yet, but she had just offered me one of the loveliest moments of my career.   

Now, I am usually fairly selective on here, but when the ‘Wiz’ dances and does his Jerry Lewis impersonation for you, you forget branding and you post the photos!
